INDUCTION TINNING

Our method developed for treating wire is an alternative to hand dipping and offers a substantial cost reduction.

Our induction tinning process is unique. We pass multi- strand wire through a coil which generates a microsecond of intense treat. This does not affect the wire's jacket but ref lows the plating to the individual strands within. The result is that the stripped area of each end of a wire length, instead of being a multi-strand "broom", takes on the characteristics of a single, solid conductor.

COAXIAL CABLE PROCESSING

Coaxial shielded cable can be processed at one or both ends or center cut. We can step down one, two and three jackets or in any specified specification. Tinning capabilities, can be applied to coaxial shielded cable as mentioned above.

MINIATURE WIRE, ANOTHER ECC SPECIALTY

Our processing of miniature wires demonstrates the precision that exemplifies product supplied by Electronic Connection. We can process wires of less than 11/2" in sizes AWG 28-36. Insulations of PVC, irradiated and cross-linked PVC, Kynar, Kapton and teflons including thin wall versions can all be processed. Strip lengths of .015 to 1" can be supplied with tolerances of ±.015.

Miniature wires can be supplied stripped, semi-stripped or tinned. For example we nave provided a AWG 34 19/ strand teflon wire stripped 1/8" and tinned 1/16" ± 1/32" with no wicking. This tight specification was held through flux mixture and solder pot temperature control and inspection procedures.

INSPECTION AND DOCUMENTATION

Each customer's set-up is carefully inspected prior to our running. This is done to reduce waste, reduce operational costs and insure that your order is processed as specified and that quality production is attained. In addition, your order is monitored on an hourly basis, or on a more frequent basis as required. Inspection reports which are coded to each lot are documented. SPC reports can be furnished upon request. We supply wire terminations, cut and stripped wire to manufacturers of appliances, computers, business equipment, automotive, medical, aerospace and marine industries to name a few.
